Sweep in Cross Country

North Central Zone Boys Cross Country Race
Northern BC student athletes crossed the finish line one-two-three in the north central zone high school girls cross country running championship in Prince George.
Fourteen year-old Fiona Benson, a grade nine distance education student from Dawson Creek, led the charge over the hilly course, never trailing in recording the fastest time in the 4.7 – kilometer race. Seventeen year-old Emily Palibroda of North Peace in Fort St John placed second overall followed by 14 year-old Kendra Young of Bert Bowes in Dawson Creek.
Sixteen year-old Kyle Miller of Williams Lake Secondary crossed the finish line first overall in the 6-3-kilometer boys race. Matt Neumann of D.P. Todd in Prince George placed second followed by Michael Ross of South Peace in Dawson Creek.
The top fifteen north central girls and boys qualified for the BC Secondary School Sports provincial championships November 5 in Victoria.
