Today  at one, the  hearings on the Kemess North Mine project will get underway.  The  Prince George session will carry through to Friday, then a second session will be held in Smithers from the 20th through to the 24th of November.

Those who will be making a presentation  have already registered to take part.  The session here will get underway with a presentation from the mining company which will outline the project.

The key opposition to the mine  surrounds the  use of Duncan  (Amazay) Lake as a tailings pond.

The mine would mean  Kemess  will continue to provide  jobs.  The current mine is set to wind down within  three years.

The sessions  will take place at  the Coast Inn of the North.

Fill in the lake. It's not like the tailings are anything new.
15,000 years ago a glacier came along and carved out a low spot and left it full of water.
It is the equivalent of a pothole in the road, on the topography of the land.
Yes, but it is someone else's pothole not the mining company's. The someone elses should have a say in what happens to their pothole before the company dumps tons and tons of sulphuric acid in it, shouldn't they?
