If more than one  person  steps in to run for the post, voters in Electoral Area "A" of the Regional District of Fraser Fort George, can expect to head to the polls on January 13th.

That would be the day most likley set to elect a Director to replace Dee Burden.  She resigned in October as she was about to plead guilty  to a charge of defrauding the Royal Bank of more than $30 thousand dollars.

On Thursday, the Regional District's Board of Directors will be asked to appoint a Chief Electoral Officer.

Once that is done, the date for an election can be set.  It must be held on a Saturday and it must be held within 80 days of the Elections Officer being named.

At the very latest, that would mean the election could be held on the 3rd of February, however, there would most likley be a desire to have Electoral Area "A" have a representative as soon as possible and the January meeting will take place on the 18th and that would allow for the successful candidate to be sworn in.

If it all unfolds according to the scenario Opinion250 is painting, it would erase the need to appoint an interim Director, a process which takes about the same amount of time as an election.
