Visiting Restrictions Remain In Place for Ft. St. John Hospital

Visiting restrictions will be in place at the Ft. St. John Hospital through the weekend.
There was a new case of norovirus in the med-surgical wing of the hospital over the past 24 hours. The gastrointestinal illness can still spread up to 48 hours after the last of symptoms disappear.
Dr. Charl Badenhorst, Medical Health Officer, Northeast says the restrictions will stay in place until at least Monday, “The visiting restriction has been extended so that efforts to reduce the spread of this illness can continue.”
To date, there have been 36 cases of the illness which first surfaced on Sunday, November 5. The Norovirus has affected 15 patients and 21 staff members.
Infection control measures will continue at the hospital until the outbreak is declared over.
