There are four public hearings set for Prince George City Council this evening. Two have to do with liquor licensing, as the owners of Rafters pub and grill on O’Grady will ask to have its patio seating increased by 20 seats and there is an application to transfer the liquor license from Shooters bar and grill in Parkwood to the building that used to house the Buffalo Brewing Company at the corner of 6th and Brunswick.
The third hearing is to ask for a an exemption to a zoning bylaw that would allow the construction of an underground parking facility for the gaming centre. The current zoning says there shall be no construction below the 200 year flood plain.
The fourth is for a temporary land use permit for Northern Toyota.
Also on the agenda, the controversial Development Cost Charges bylaw. This is the bylaw that would set development fees in accordance to areas of the City and would increase a developers share of the cost. During the consultation process, critics said the increases are too much at a time when the City is trying to attract further development.
