Festival Heralds Start of Season

Tis the season,  you know it  has officially started because the Festival of Trees gets underway today, the one event that showcases all that is magical about this time of the year.

For 13 years, the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation has presented the Festival which is a major fundraising event.  The dollars raised through the sale of wreaths, gifts and auctioned trees, goes towards the purchase of equipment, renovations and refurbishment at PGRH.

Some events are already sold out!  You can't get a ticket to the Chamber Lunch today!

Admission for the Festival is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children, students and seniors, and  you van get a family pass for $10.00.

There are special admission prices for some of the events,  those prices are listed below.

Here's how the balance of the season of sparkle events are set:

Today,  November 28th

  • Chamber Lunch  (sold out)
  • Open for public  viewing from 2:00 till 9:00 tonight
  • Honey Tree Fashion SHow 7:00 to 9:00 ($20)

Wednesday, Nov. 29th

  • Open 9:00 to 9:00
  • Civic Centre Light Up event 6:00 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 20th

  • Open 9:00 to 9:00 p.m.
  • Scotiabank Seniors Silver Bell Tea 2:00 ($5.00)

Friday, Dec. 1st

  • open 9:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Clarica's Gala Auction Night ($50.00) viewing and silent auction starts at 7:00, live auction starts at 8:45

Saturday, Dec 2nd

  • Open  9:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  • Jingle Bell Dance ($25 per person)

Sunday, Dec. 3rd

  • open 11:00 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Teddy Bear Brakfast at 9:00 a.m. ($12 per person)

There are  nearly 30  decorated  full sized trees, and little two footers that have been decked to the nines!   The Festival also features  wreaths, silent auctions, and a gift shop.

Very nice festival of CHRISTMAS trees.
I am sure they are nice, but it is going to take a lot more than trees and lights to get me downtown.....
