The success of the Primary project was held last week. The project with 50 other School Districts was held to showcase the success of the project.
Carney Hill, Ron Brent, Quinson and Harwin elementary schools participate in The Primary Project, a program that focuses on struggling students. Inner city schools have higher numbers of vulnerable students who often do not progress at the same rate as other students in the district. The team researched best practices and developed an intervention program based on organization, professional development, a balanced literacy program and assessment.
The Learning in Action Showcase features the work of 51 B.C. school districts, each of which will present one innovative teaching practice under the themes of literacy, equitable futures, secondary learners, early learning, or shared leadership.
The showcase offers an opportunity for school boards to share and celebrate the creative ways they are enhancing the learning experience for students.
