Housing Starts Up

Canada Mortgage and Housing  says  housing starts in Prince George were up in December.

In December of 2005, there  had been 11 starts,  in 2006 that number was 17, for a 54.5% increase.

For the year, the numbers are good.

Single detached starts:

2005    259

2006    283

9.3% increase

Multiple Family Dwellings:

2005    25

2006    37

48% increase  

Total:

2005 starts    284

2006 starts    320 

Total increase 12.7%
