The clock was ticking towards the January 17th midnight deadline, but, CN rail workers have a tentative deal with the railway.
The members of CAW Local 100 and CAW National Council 4000 reached the deal last night. Ratification votes for the employees with CN Rail and Canadian National Transportation Limited are being set up for later this week.
The Unions carried a strong strike mandate to the table as workers had voted 91% in favour of strike action.
The CAW represents more than 4000 shopcraft, clerical, supplemental and owner-operator members at CN facilities across the country.
