Benson Off to an Excellent Start at University Games

UNBC student Jacqui Benson was the top Canadian in the opening ladies Nordic ski race at the Winter World University games in Italy. The 24 year-old Prince George athlete finished 11th out of 72 racers in the 5K individual classic. Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland led a European sweep of the podium. Benson was one of five Canadian women to compete in the international field. Her next cross country ski race is Saturday in the 10-day event.
