Regional District of Fraser Fort George has launched the search for its next Chief Administrator.    With Derek Bates leaving the Regional District to take on the job as Manager of the City of Prince George, there is a top level spot that needs to be filled at the Regional District office.

Advertising is taking place in  B.C. and in Ontario.  The ad says the Regional District offices are in the  City of Prince George, population 80,000 and says the ideal candidate will be both creative and energetic.

"We are looking for someone who is excited about the incredible potential of this challenging region and who has a proven track record in local government (particularly with regional districts) preferably at a CAO level.

Working very closely with the Chair, members of the Board and managers you will assume responsibility for the Regional Districts and liaise regularly with the Electoral Area Directors, Municipal Directors, staff of the member municipalities, and First Nations organizations. The ability to think outside old paradigms is an essential component. Additional skills in planning, engineering, economic development and environmental management will be considered an asset. "

There is no mention of salary range.

Board Chair Art Kaehn says the deadline for submissions is the 19th of February, and a special committee will then sift through the  applications with the hope of conducting  interviews in March.  He says it is possible, a new Chief Administrative Officer could be on the job by the start of summer.

With Derek Bates  gone,  the Regional District has  shifted some duties to Jim Martin.  He is being given some financial compensation for taking on those extra duties.

Sounds like an ad for a cult leader.
