The Coroner's Inquest into the December 2004 shooting death of Kevin St. Arnaud (shown at left) has taken a break for lunch,  but before  the recess, Rebecca Gingera, the wife of Kevin St. Arnaud was on the stand.

She has testified that the following day when police  were discussing Kevin's death with her and Kevin's family  that  one of the police officers was laughing.  She said, "You don't tell someone that  you just shot somebody from their family, and laugh about it."

Gingera told the inquest that she and Kevin went to Glen's bar in Vanderhoof to attend his staff Christmas party.  She believes he consumed at least 20 "greyhounds" .  "I had worked  in a bar, and believe he was way over his limit."  GIngera left  without Kevin, "There were 10 or 12 people at the bar and around 11 oclock,  Kevin said something to me that I didn't like  and I went home."

She says Kevin showed up at home about an hour later.  "Kevin showed up, walked in the door but he could hardly stand up, he was mummbling and his eyes were all glazed over.   He went back outside and I thought he was getting some fresh air but he never returned."

Rebecca told the inquest she  tried to find Kevin, " About an hour later, I went out and drove around town looking for him  but I couldn't find him.   It was my feeling when I looked for him that night,  that when he wakes up tomorrow  we're going to have to tell him what took place last night."

When asked if the real reason she left the bar was because she and Kevin were breaking up, she replied, "No, I was very much in love with him

The inquest has already heard how Kevin was shot three times.
