Highway of Tears Coordinator Lisa Krebs says family members of the missing and murdered women along Highway 16 will be meeting with the RCMP early next month.

Krebs says it will be an opportunity for the police to update the family members on where they’re at in terms of their investigations.

Kreb says, "They (the RCMP) have been pretty good at sharing what they’re doing."  She says, "Right now, they’re working on a database to basically bring forward all of the information - kind of like the Pickton trial where all the information had to be collated into one resource centre."

And Krebs says there is a lot of information involved, "One officer gave us an example where one particular file has 50 banker’s filing boxes attached to it, so that’s a lot of hard copy data that needs to be transferred in there."

Last Friday marked one year since the disappearance of 14-year-old Aielah Saric-Auger.  Her body was discovered eight days later along Highway 16-East.  She is considered one of the 11 woman missing or murdered along the so-called Highway of Tears. (click here for earlier story)
