PG Residents Give RCMP Top Marks
RCMP Superintendent Dahl Chambers outside the city's budget meeting
A recent survey of Prince George residents is reporting a 91-percent approval rating for the local RCMP detachment.
Speaking at city council's budget meeting last night, Superintendent Dahl Chambers says facts gleaned from the just-released report are both heartening and disheartening at the same time. He says the high approval rating is phenomenal, but residents have identified a number of areas of concern. "They identified the issues we face every day in dealing with drug addiction, in dealing with drugs, in dealing with traffic issues."
Chambers says 47-percent of those surveyed felt traffic was one of the biggest issues facing the city, while another 38-percent felt drugs and all things related to drugs offences - robberies, crack houses, the sex trade - were of prime concern.
The RCMP Superintendent presented the findings while requesting city councillors increase current staffing levels at the Prince George detachment by four regular members this year. Council has deferred the request to its last budget meeting (click here for earlier story).
The survey was funded by the RCMP, but was conducted independently by the University College of the Fraser Valley during the month of December.

Never even heard of one person being surveyed.
Good results though.
Too bad I am not gullible enough to buy those results of a so called survey!
If so many are satisfied, why do we have to pay for 4 more members to staff the Prince George detachment.
They must be capable of performing satisfactorily with the members on staff at present.
I sure do dislike saying I am a non believer, but I will say it irregardless- I am a non believer!
How about you?
