Premier Gordon Campbell says the top priority in the province is the reconstruction of Highway One in Kicking Horse Pass and after that, the twinning of Highway 97 and Highway 16.
"I hope during my time in office that these highways will be twinned," he says.
"The federal government has come forward with money for the Kicking Horse Pass, and we feel confident that Highways 16 and 97 - the Caribou Connector - will also qualify for some federal funding."
Speaking on Shaw TV to Opinion 250 News Editor Ben Meisner, Campbell also says that a cancer clinic for this area remains a high priority.
The Premier says, "I agree with the people of the North when they say, why we are always being asked to travel somewhere to get our medical attention, why can’t people travel to Prince George?"
He says the report that was prepared for Northern Health and submitted to his government last year was a very good report. He adds, "I believe in it."

This guy leaves a lot to be desired. The only reason he is here to-day, is because of the NDP. If there was a viable alternative Campbell would be knocked out of the ball park.
Politics makes strange bedfellows.
