Masich, the ONLY name in Track

Recent news articles have highlighted the vast contributions of the Masich family to the quality of life in Prince George. This family has given almost 40 years of dedicated effort to Track and Field athletics to our city. It was once expressed to me by Tom Masich that he and his wife, Ann, spent an average of 1200 plus hours per year on track. Is it not well passed time for the council of the City of Prince George to make a simple name change from Massey Place Stadium to Masich Stadium? We do not need to wait for a "memorial" prefix !

Publisher's Note;

It's amazing how so many local residents already refer to the Stadium as "Masich" Place. It's also amazing City Hall hasn't made the change. Recent celebrations would have been the perfect opportunity to recognize the Masich Family's contributions, but sadly, like a badly run relay, we droppd the baton...again!

Even in Fort St. John, the Masich family is known and deeply appreciated by our track and field athletes and families. Tom is the familar face that is always at the meets, encouraging the kids while making sure that all runs smoothly.
Regularly, Tom and Ann put up athletes from the surrounding northern communities who require some extra training or as a stop-over enroute to another meet. I think all of the north would approve of the renaming of Massey Place to Masich Stadium.
Thank you Tom and Ann!
