ICBC: Cheques Are In The Mail...Nearly

The refunds promised in June for many drivers who renewed their  insurance packages just before the rates were reduced, should start  getting their rebate cheques late next week.

ICBC will start mailing out the first of 900,000 cheques on the 24th, and the process is expected to be complete  by the 21st of September.

While the average refund is in the $37 dollar range, Media Manager Doug McClelland says many of the rebates  for the Prince George area are a little higher than that  "It's not necessarily because drivers there are safer, it's just that auto crime claims are on the rise in the lower mainland, so the scales are tipping in the favour of the Prince George and Peace region drivers."

In all, the Insuarance Corporation is refunding $33 million dollars.

Yawn. I long ago switched to a private insurer and haven't looked back. Who can afford to insure themselves through ICBC anymore?
A person with male teen drivers...
Good point!
Pay over $900.00 bucks and get $37.00 refund.
Really makes my day.
I am so excited I should be out celebrating.
I suppose they got interest on that 33 MILLION, so it is costing them nothing other than the cost of processing cheques, and that will be covered also.
Guess we needed another trip down a garden path.
This is really just another joke to prove how gullible the public is.
