Timberwolves Upset in BCCAA Basketball PLayoffs

UNBC Northern Timberwolves saw a lead they held for 3 quarters slip away in the fourth quarter in a 56-54 loss to the Camosun College Chargers in the quarterfinals of the BCCAA women’s basketball playoffs at Abbotsford. UNBC held period leads of 20-17, 33-22 and 48-43 before Camosun outscored UNBC 13-6 in the final quarter. Carlye Hicks topped the T-wolves scoring with 12 points .Theresa Smith and Laurel Wallace each scored 11 points.  Smith also  added 11 rebounds in earning UNBC player of the game honours. UNBC turnovers proved costly with 28 on the game. The Chargers bench outscored the T-wolves bench 21-11.

 The Northern Timberwolves, who finished the regular season 11-5 in third-place, suffered their first loss to the Victoria college this season. Camosun entered the playoffs with a 6-10 sixth place regular season. UNBC had defeated Camson College 93-57 and 83-56.
