Number of Police officers to go to 128

    Of 27 cities surveyed with a population of over 15,000, Prince George has the third highest cost per capita for its municipal police force served by the RCMP .

Prince George taxpayers pay an average of  $201 dollars per capita for police services .  Port Alberni pays $249 while Langley city pays $237 per capita.

It should be noted that the number of police officers serving the city has increased from 114 in 1999, 2000- 117,   2002-  121,   2003- 121,  2005 - 121. the recently approved request will increase the force in the city to  128 officers in 2007.
