It can be described as the largest housing subdivision to seek and receive approval in recent memory.

A company headed by Sue and Dirk Loedel called Malaspina Ridge Enterprises, has received approval from City Hall to develop a 79 lot home subdivison in College Heights at the east end of Malaspina Boulevard. The subdivision had been in the works for several years.  It was turned down on the first go around by city council in 2002 . As the first major subdivision to seek and receive approval in the city in recent memory, it sets the tone for what can only be described as a hot real estate market .

After suffering through many years of decreasing home prices in recent months, that trend has been totally reversed and each day new highs are being established in the home real estate market. The company hopes to have the first homes ready for occupancy in September or October of this year.
