Here we go again...another bash to the consumer. I guess there will be no holidays for anyone this year..nor boating, fishing etc. Not to mention filling the saws to get rid of the beetle kill. Its going to be tough enough for people to get to and from work if they can even afford that and still beable to feed their families. This is getting ridiculous!
the city should mount a bc highwaycamera at the gas stations price, then we know if we need to worry about highway conditions around the province.
What's the reason for the increase this time? Must have been because the sun was out this morning. Fuel retailers are worse than lawyers in my opinion.
You don't have to rob a bank, just run a gas station.
Price per barrell dropped to $57.00 from $60.00 so one would think that the prices would go down, not up.

Simply put we are being hosed, and have been for years, however most people continue to go back to the same service station, and reward them for raising prices.

Prices "have to work their way through the system". Except when they go up.
Park your vehicle and walk, take the bus, take a taxi or car pool with others. The only way to deal with this is hit them where they will notice it, in their pocket books.Or, sell your extra vehicle.

I've managed with one vehicle for the past 7 years. Get creative and think up ways you can get even. Chester
Problem is Chester,There is no buses at 4:30 in the morning when I go to work, from way up on the Hart!
No real excuse for this... the price of crude has been pretty steady and is still less than when we had the last increase
I get the feeling we are offsetting the costs for the lower mainland and provinces eastward....
Not sure what the answer is....
Boycotts don't work here as the oil companies don't own the stations.... some local does and is told what the price is.
Maybe sending back the oil company credit cards to them might get the point through to them.....
maybe not
Three words for it. GREED, GOUGING and THIEVES. Last year at this time gas was around .90 p/l barrel was $63 - $64.00. Barrel is $58.00 today figure that one. I give up, can't do a thing about it! It's like rising taxes and bank fees you can't do a damn thing about!
Tis true, crude has been running $59 to $60 a barrel lately, this morning $58.08 a barrel...
gouging big time...
I agree with Chester - It's okay to complain but if you don't do something about it all you are is a yapper. If you must be at work at 4:30 a.m. then car pool or find a friend near your place of employment so you can stay there and cycle/walk to work - a month of no gas purchases could/would make quite a difference - especially if the boycott includes more than a hundred people. Walk/cycle to the grocery store (put groceries in back pack). Try canoeing instead of motorboating. Use a motor bike instead of a 4 X 4 diesel truck for transportation or better still use the bus. With more people using the bus the more buses the city will provide. Ever try cutting a tree with a non-powered saw? You'd live longer if you made that a habit. I could go on but I have to walk to the store.
Scam, scam, scam. The only one who can do anything about this is the government. They allow it because they like it.They make big money. And they will do nothing about it so forget that.
Raise hell with the station owners who say it isn't their fault.I don't buy that. They are involved too, and know more than they are telling. And they like these high prices.
I know it doesn't do much, but I send emails.Lots of them.Better than doing nothing and feeling abused and helpless.Sure they will ignore you most times, but sometimes they actually send you a reply thats says absolutley nothing!Thrilling!I have a very nice collection.
I try to buy a minimum of gas and keep changing stations.I have found that I can go a lot longer before I buy any gas than I used too.I run it right down to the bottom. It still costs the same in the end but it makes me feel better!!!And I also try to walk more.Bonus.It IS criminal though. The politicians and the oil companies have always been in bed together. We know that and it isn't going to change. All politicians are liars...but not all liars are politicians!
I agree with chester. when the price leaps up,cut down on your use any way you can. I will try to combine trips as much as possible. KInd of a round about way to get around to fighting greehouse gasses but there you go! When they go for our wallets, thats when we start to care about that stuff :)
I AM NOT IN FAVOR OF GOVERNMENT REGULATION,BUT THIS IS A CASE WHERE IT IS OBVOUSLY REQUIRED.THIS IS OUT AND OUT THIEVERY AND SHOULD BE STOPPED. CALL YOUR MLA AND YOUR MP. LETS PUT THE HEAT ON.

The Petro Canada station beside the shopping mall in williams lake is just 59 cents a litre.
Every other station in WL charges way more, but that Petro Can keeps the price down.
I fill up there every trip thru WL to help suport them, and to save money of course.
