The Regional District of Fraser Fort George has approved it’s budget for  2007.  It  calls for  a total of $22.9 million dollars in spending of which , $13.6 million will have to be raised through taxation.

Funding for three new services, Valemount and District Rescue Service, Bendixon Sewer, and Buckhorn Sewer, is included in the budget, together with financial support for the Regional Cultural Plan implementation.

The tax requisition level in the budget reflects increased  dollars for several  services including :Fire/Rescue Protection Services, the 9-1-1 Emergency Response Service, the Prince George and District Library Service, Electoral Area Community Grants, the Robson Valley Recreation Centre, and improvements in the Rural Transfer Station Service.

Just how much more money will be added to your  property tax bill depends on the area in which you live, and the overall assessments.   Communities  which make up the Regional District of Fraser Fort George  share the  costs, but  some pay more than others based on the assessments for their  particular areas.

For Prince George,  its share  for 2007 is  $5,146,113, that is $303,977 dollars more than  the  amount paid in 2006.

For Mackenzie  it is expected to pay  $447,321, which is  a decrease of  24,822 dollars from the amount paid in 2006.
