School District 57 is on its way to raising the $5 million needed for the  balance of the construction costs of  a new Duchess Park High School.

The Board of Trustees has announced it has sold the Lakewood  Elementary to  AiMHi for $1.8 million.  The  price tag was based on  market value assessment.

The dollars from the sale will go towards two major capital plans,  the construction of the new Duchess Park and  renovations to College Heights Secondary.

The School DIstrict you will recall,  agreed to come up with $5 million dollars  to go towards the construction of  a new Duchess Park School as long as the Province agreed to build a school that would be big enough for 900 students instead of  the 650 the Province wanted.
