PG Titans Capture Silver at Canadian Championship

     Yellow Jerseyed Prince George Titans on their way to the BC title at Kelly Road.

     

   

The Prince George Titans will return home with silver medals from the Canadian Wheelchair Basketball Open Finals at Laval University in Quebec City. The Titans fell 69-59 to Variety Village of Toronto in the gold medal game of the eight team championship.  The Titans trailed the number one seed from Ontario by 7 points after 3 quarters of the exciting final. Prince George kept clawing back the margin until Toronto pulled ahead to stay in the final three minutes of the final.  Prince George finished the national championship with a 4-1 record. The Titans finished atop their four team pool at 3-0. Prince George opened with an 88-47 victory over the Burlington Ontario Vipers. The Titans then beat the St. John Mavericks of New Brunswick 73-63 before completing the round robin with a 78-69 victory over the Moncton New Brunswick Magic. In the semi-final the BC champs from Prince George downed the host Bulldogs of Quebec City 83-55.
