The Province  has approved funding for another 13 flood protection  projects.  Among the  projects  approved under the Urgent Flood Mitigation Works program are:

The projects approved today are in addition to the funding announced March 31st.  The total amount of dollars committed to flood prevention projects so far is $23,232,242, that leaves just  under $10 million left.

Minister of Public Safety John Les says there is still an oppurtunity for communities to apply ""We want to hear from communities that feel they may be at risk for
flooding this spring," said Les.  "We are still accepting applications for this funding and communities should take action now if they think they are at risk."

The projects  have to  focus on areas where there is a real threat of flood  as well as a real threat to  public safety  and infrastructure  if the projects  were not completed.
