In less than a year and a half, the Spay- Neuter Clinic in Prince George, has  performed 5,000 operations.  That says, the BC SPCA, is a major accomplishment worth celebrating.

This afternoon,  Pepper Pringle, a pomeranian  that was number 5,000  to undergo "the knife",  was  given special treatment as the Queensway Avenue Clinic celebrated this milestone.

The  success of the program means  there will be  fewer unwanted pups and kittens in the region, and that means animals will not have to be euthenized because they cannot  find a home.

“The people of Prince George have really stepped up to address the issue,” says the clinic’s veterinarian Dr. Kim Yuill. “Our low-cost spay/neuter facility is only the second facility of its kind anywhere in BC and the community has made good use of it.  We’re excited to share this celebration with the people of Prince George.”

I took my pup to the vets for first shots and he wasn't too friendly with the vet. and the vet. also told me I needed to give him more discipline (he never acted that way before and I left there not too happy) so when I made my appointment at the spay/neuter clinic I made sure they knew about my dog and how he behaved at vets. She was so good on the phone and said not to worry. Neighbors of mine recommended the clinic to me and so glad they did. I brought my pup and once up on exam table she talked and handled my dog in such a good way he licked her on the nose. He's a good judge of character :) His operation went smoothly and recovered fast and didnt show he was in much pain. Love the clinic!!!
Well needed service. IMO they should try and get to the outlying areas as well. The outdoor dog pound in Tumbler Ridge IMO is a shame when you see those dogs out there in the elements in the middle of winter.
Good story... I too, had a great experience with my puppy at this clinic. Extremely well done from entry to exit... a wonderful group of people.... very worthwhile to support this endevour !!!

Of course, this is from a human's point of view... not sure how the animals feel about leaving their parts behind !! :-)

lol so true RRrabbitt....well my dog was a bit loopy still when I picked him up so i'm hoping he was seeing purple elephants and not a lack of something else.
