Forestry Minister Rich Coleman delivers cheque to Burns Lake Mayor, Bernice Magee

The Omineca Beetle Action Coalition has been given a cheque for $900 thousand dollars to take its second step.

The money will allow OBAC to move forward with its  business plan  to assist communities  trying  to  recover from the devastation of the Mountain Pine Beetle  infestation.

This is the second  funding boost for OBAC, bringing its total to $1.7 million.

OBAC General Manager, Elizabeth Anderson says the  money will allow OBAC to move forward with some of the projects it wanted to  carry out  "You can’t raise people’s expectations and say you are going to do something if you don’t know you’re going to have the money to do it." says Anderson.  "Now we have the money, now we can  move ahead."
