Friday the 13th spelled bad luck for several Prince George drivers.  Prince George RCMP's Integrated  Road Safety Unit and Fraser Fort George Traffic Services, conducted check stops at several locations in the city last evening.

8 drivers lost their license for  24 hours and had their vehicles impounded for 24 hours.  Two of the drivers were  served administrative driving prohibitions.  Several people were also ticketed for not wearing their seatbelts.

Police  also  tracked down a suspoect in a hold up at London Drugs.  Store staff say a lone male entered the store in Parkwood Place around 8:30,  went to the electronics area, forced open the cash register till , grabbed the cash and made a run for it.  Security staff took up the chase and said the suspect  appeared to have a handgun.

Police found their suspect a short time later but  there were no weapons.  The suspect is facing charges of robbery and obstructing a police officer.

Then, early this morning, police executed a search warrant on a  residence in the 100 block of McIntyre Crescent. Police seized two firearms, cash and cocaine from the residence.  One adult male, and one adult female  were arrested  and will face a string of drug related charges.  Their  two children aged 13 and 15  were  in the residence but the Ministry of Children and Family is now investigating.

In the old days it used to be much easier for the RCMP to spot impaired drivers. All they had to do is look for someone driving erratically.

Now, all of the drivers in Prince George have to swerve and weave all over the road to avoid all of the potholes and ruts.
Really? been downtown on the weekend lately? At bar closing time it's like a duck shoot - all the drunk drivers out there!
