Non-Media Type Hits Bulls Eye: One Man's Opinion

Forget listening to all of these media types who tell you how the Cougars are going to do in the playoffs.

You Hartley Miller, (Opinion 250’s very own expert) and Kelly Sharp (who says he could tell if it was Devin Setoguchi from 1,000 meters just by the way he walks) didn’t even get the dart on the board.

Opinion 250 ran into one guy a couple of times before the series began and he was  steadfast on who would win the series.

Tom Madden, Director of Leisure Services in the city made it quite plain a couple of weeks ago that the Cougars would win the series in six games and he was adamant about it.

I asked "Six?...You mean the Silvertips…"

"Naww" said Madden, "I’m talking about the Cougars."

At the time I thought that maybe, just maybe, Tom was packing more in the thermos than the coffee that he usually brings to work.

He asked  what I thought;   "Well here it is,"   I said, " I’d be tickled if we even won two games in the series."

"You got it all wrong"  was Madden’s reply; "Cougars in six"  and off he went.

So today for all you pros who work the team, travel with them, talk to them, know their families and have the " inside track" you blew it.

As for my family,  we called  Tom Madden right off the bat this morning.  Did we want his prediction for  the next series?

Don’t be silly.. We got him to give us some numbers for the 6-49 this weekend.

I’m Meisner and that’s one man’s opinion.
