This is one of the last opportunities to take part in ForesTree Fest with  tree planting set for Harry Loder Park (10am till noon) and Punchaw Park (noon till 2 p.m.)

Once the events are finished today,  those who took part in the  events all season can  give themselves a pat on the back for having  planted 3,000 trees.

if you plan to take part today, wear "sturdy" shoes.  The Fores Tree Fest folk will be on hand to give youa hand with planting, and there will be a free concession and water.

That's not the end of the party,  on September 10th,  there will be a Thank You Celebration  at Harper Park .  That event starts at noon, with some tree planting, with burgers and cake to follow.

This 2005 program is the first of a three-year planting effort to restore Prince George's urban forests.
