Science says Cougars Win

We at 250 have taken a scientific survey on who will win the Cougars Vancouver Giants next round.
We were going to ask just the sports writers to give us their thoughts, but look at their record.
Well we couldn’t help but start off with Kelly Sharp , he made another prediction : Sharp says the Giants in 6 , but then he adds, ’I’ve never been right before in a prediction so why should I now?"

Hartley Miller, the guru of the world hockey predictions, says "Vancouver in 6 and I’m willing to back that up with a dime on it. You can take my prediction to the bank."
Glen Dufresne, former Cougar play by play announcer, and a maybe, just maybe a homer. "Cougars in six, because its time" as Dufresne says ,"Its the year of destiny. It was exactly 10 years ago that they made their first run at the division title".
Now for the real pros, you know, those who can pick them from a mile away.
- Betty Rushton, "I’ve seen it all, Cougars in 6"
- Edith Kosheiff, "Betty never gets it right, Cougars in 7"
- Jim Dimor, "I’d stake my kid on it, Cougars in 6"
- Ken Sands (rode the van with him to Seattle in 97) "If they play like they did in the Everett series, Cougars in 7, if they get a split in Vancouver, Cougars in 6 "
- Kurk Vanderlans, "Cougars in 7, if they take it in 6 I’ll ride my bike all the way to Vancouver without touching the handle bars."
- Brandi Brodsky, "Cougars in 6 or Dallas sleeps on the sofa for the month of May"
- Elaine Macdonald, (who picked the cougars in the last round). "Take it all in 6 , or you get the sofa too Meisner and that’s not a threat its a promise"
- Bruce Sutherland, "I know that they are bigger and can beat us up, but they way we are skating … look out. If we split down there we could take them in 7 maybe even 6"
- Rob Mitchell, the Cougars P.A. announcer at CN Center says "It’s a no brainer... Cougars in 6"
- Barry Clark ,"I’m going aginst the flow... The Cougars will take it all in 5"
- Fred Dettling "I’m a little scared of Vancouver, but if we win one down there, I think we will take it in seven, I’m betting with my heart."
Then we talked to the real pro, the guy who had it right on the money, City Leisure Services Director Tom Madden. ‘If they get a split in Vancouver it will be Cougars in 6"
Remember it was Madden who hit the nail on the head in the last series when he said Cougars in 6 against Everett.
The Saturday game will be carried by the Sports Net delayed by one hour so it will start at 8.00 pm on Saturday night.
The Friday game starts at 7.30 pm. and is available on WHL live streaming video ( for a fee).
Shaw will carry game 6 and 7 if they are needed.
There are still some single tickets and standing room available for Tuesday and Wednesday . Keep in mind however that a block of tickets for both games ,100 for the Cougars and 100 for the Giants will become available at noon Monday at Ticket Master if they are not claimed.
