Prince George RCMP executed a drug warrant on a residence in the 1400 block of Strathcona Avenue this afternoon.  It was the second time police had searched the same home in ten days.

When they arrived on the scene, police  say they  were  surprised to find the main entrance had been heavily barricaded.  Once they made their  way inside,  police say they  found several people inside the home.  The   police say the  second surprise  was the door  from the lower portion of the residence to the upper level was also  heavily barricaded preventing police  from  moving from the basement to the upper floor.

Turns out there had been a  hole  cut  in the  upper level floor.  Police figure  that was the pipeline to exchange cash for drugs.  Police say  they  believe customers would give their cash  to a worker in the lower level of the house, the money would be passed through the hole to the upper level where  the drugs were kept,  and the "order" would be passed back through the hole to the customer on the lower level.

During the search police seized crack cocaine, heroin and cash.   Charges of  possesson of a controlled substance for the  purpose of trafficking are pending against one adult male.

The courts need to start punishing these people to keep them from continuing their criminal lifestyle.
And the penalty is?
AND THE PENALTY IS... SLAP-- GO HOME AND DO IT AGAIN. WE HAVE TO KEEP THE LAWYERS EMPLOYED.
Penalty?...no penalty.Sorry we bothered you.Drug money is a part of our B.C.economy.
Drug money also flows up hill.
Anyone who hasn't noticed that is not paying attention.Look at one of the cases before the courts right now in Victoria. It's on the news and getting very stinky!
"police say they found several people inside the home"

Yet only one was even charged....sigh
Put a 9mm slug into their heads like China does. I guarrantee they won't keep poisoning our kids after that.
I'LL VOTE FOR THE 9 MIL.
Parrothead ....

let us apply the supply demand principles

If people would not demand drugs, then the pushers would have no business. If they have no business, one would not have to put a slug into their head.

If one left the demand side alone, and reduced the number of pushers, then the price would go up as the risk became greater. Upping the money that could be made would get others interested.

We would be putting slugs into 100, 1,000, 10,000 people easily.

How is the drug trade doing in China?

I have to agree with owl.Hit the pushers hard.Drive the price way way up.That would maybe also make it too risky to get involved in for wannabe pushers.Short career span, lots of jail time.
Then what would the suppliers do? The pushers are NOT the suppliers. We never see those guys. And everytime the cops make a big bust and short the supply on the street?
The price goes up.
Of course, that is assuming the powers that be really WANT to do something about it? I refuse to believe that this is the best they can do.
But then, where is the deterent?Slap, slap, and back on the street. It always come back to the same issue...the courts and judges. The laws are there but they don't apply them harshly enough. If the penalties were severe enough,a lot of people involved in the drug businees would re-think their livelihood.Make it really hurt!
And I really DO believe that drug profits flow UP hill.We would all be amazed where it ends up.
Thanks qwaszxter for the heads up on that t.v. program. I certainly will be watching it.

Clearly the present war on drugs is not working.

Currently anyone who wishes to purchase any kind of an illegal drug can find what they are looking for with absolutely no trouble at all. That is a given. We are fooling ourselves if we do not realize this fact.

The criminal element is very happy with the way things are going now, they get to pocket many billions of dollars every year in profits from selling drugs in Canada.

Maybe it is time to consider some alternatives to our current war on drugs.

Let us correct one incorrect statement that is constantly used: "drug pusher".

Where are they pushing? Are they putting ads on the tv? In magazines? Are they standing on street corners yelling, "Crack, come get your crack..." Are they placing their product in movies?

Just where is this "pushing" taking place? You folks are REALLY talking about the beer producers, the wine producers, the people that sell coffin nails not to mention other drug companies... the last people that "push" their products are the folks that sell illegal drugs. You must seek them out if you want their products.

Please speak with accurate terms and not propaganda.

The drug war does not work. Why have so many not figured this fact out yet?
Thank you kevin1006...I was unaware that there was a valid job discription for this kind of activity.
This certianly changes everything doesn't it?
Would this mean that we can no longer refer to them as scumbags, slimeballs,or large pieces of fecal matter?
Obviously you are better informed than many of us.
