Police and emergency personnel have recovered the body of a 58 year old man believed to be the driver of a motorcycle that left the Upper Fraser Road and ended up in Browns Creek.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The accident occurred at about 1:40 this afternoon on an S curve on Browns  Creek on  the Upper Fraser Road  nearly 14 kilometers  north of Highway 16 east.  Police were unable to search the creek with divers because of the fast moving water made dirty by the spring run off.

It was first reported that the motorcycle  had gone into the Fraser River.

Constable Gary Godwin of the RCMP says "We  will still don’t know if there was a passenger on the motorcycle at the time of the crash."    The type of motorcycle involved  is not yet known.

Last year at about the same time another motorcyle rider died as a result of injuries he sustained at the exact same location . His bike went into the creek after sliding on loose sand.

A wonderful person died today. He will be missed.
My sincere condolences to all involved.

If this is the second fatality on a motorcycle at the same location, should we not be taking remedial measures at this location ?

Let these people's deaths not be in vain.
Oh snappi i'm so sorry.
Sand on the road, potholes and ruts made by large heavy trucks are very dangerous for bikers. My condolences to the friends and families of this fellow. Chester
