If you are looking for a plant that will give you years of untroubled beauty then plant a Daylily as you will not be disappointed by the tough yet beautiful perennial

If you want to plant a daylily they can be either planted by a root which is available in spring, or as an existing plant, similar to a peony.

When planting choose a well-drained site where it will receive full sun, as this will give you the best floral display.

Plants can be planted in a shaded area but this can effect the amount of flowers it will produce.

Plant the crown of the plant so that it is 3 cm below the soil surface. Keep the plant well watered until it is established and once established it will tolerate dry, hot conditions. They are easily divided in early fall and by so doing you can have many plants in your landscape.

For continued good blooming the plant should be divided every 4-5 years. Before digging up the plant to divide it cut back the foliage by two-thirds and then dig it up and split it with a sharp garden spade. Replant the divisions immediately and water them in well.

If you are looking for a plant that will give you years of untroubled beauty then plant a Daylily as you will not be disappointed by the tough yet beautiful perennial
