Five people have tested positive so far for tuberculosis  in Vanderhoof and a host of other people have been asked to report to the health clinic in that community.

In all, 34 were people were tested on  Friday.  Five  of those tested  were positive, including a young child.

A  further 35 people  were tested on Monday,  and they are waiting for results.

Dr. Lorna Medd, Medical Health officer says there will be likely  more extensive testing over the next  few days.  She  says TB does not spread by poor hygiene, not washing your hands, but rather when an infected person coughs on you.

Several of the people who have tested positive are employed at a Vanderhoof restaurant with the result that people who have been eating at the establishment are being tested.

"We have had TB in the north over the past two years" Dr. Medd says, "but by no means has it been out of control. TB has been around for a long time and we have been able to control it pretty well."

Those people who do get tested today  will have to wait until Thursday to get the results of their tests.

Thanks Ben.
It is more extensive than what your lady has said, but we will see how extensive the problem is.
I am thinking that the politically correct crowd are busy blowing sunshine up your er you know...
I have had this too. I've had so much sunshine I glow in the dark.
My wife is one of those being tested today.
She had better not be infected or all hell is going to break loose.
Lets wish them all a speedy recovery.
