The winner of the Innaugural Battle of the Hockey Enforcers is Dean Mayrand, who plays minor pro hockey in Quebec.
He took a split decision over Mike Sgroi and the $62,000 purse. Sgroi took home $25,000
About 2,000 people were on hand to see the individual fighters enter the arena amid a cloud of dry ice fog then duke it out in the space between the blue lines.
But never mind the action on the ice, police and security had to break up at least four brawls in the beer garden as some attendees got a little out of hand.
As promised, the matchups leading to the final fight, were stopped when a helmet came off, or if one of the fighters fell to the ice.
While the number of seats sold may have only been one third of what the CN Centre can accomodate, there is no word yet on what the pay per view sales brought to promoter Darryl Wolski.

I think this city searches out notoriety, as stupidity surely does not enter the mix.
Can one reasonably imagine fights and brawling by ticket holders demanding the attention of police and security.
My, that does speak well for the residents of this fine city!!!!!
Hope some reporters attended who can do a full write up on this notable event--or was it a questionable event????
