Tigers Off to Prince George

The Aurora Tigers of the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League roared into the RBC Royal Bank Cup in Prince George. The Tigers, who finished at 20-5 in winning 5 consecutive playoff series en route to the OPJHL championship, completed a 4-0 Dudley- Hewitt Cup tournament with a 10-0 rout of the Schrieber Diesels in the final of the Greater Ontario Junior A championship at Iroquois Falls. The Tigers return to the National Junior A hockey championship after a 3 year absence. It was 2004 when the Central champs won the Royal Bank Cup in Grande Prairie. Aurora Tigers, Camrose Kodiaks and host Prince George Spruce Kings await the East and West representatives for the RBC Royal Bank Cup May 5-13 at CN Centre. The Selkirk Steelers can capture the Anavet Cup with a victory tonight against the visiting Humboldt Broncos. The Pembroke Lumber Kings take on the host Saint-Jerome Panthers in Sunday's East final for the Fred Page Cup.
