Prince George RCMP are asking  the public to be on the look out for an older model, light blue  full sized van.  The vehicle is beleived to be linked with two  attempted abductions in the past week.

Police say the  first   incident happened  early last week at about 9:15 in the morning in the  1600 block of Third Avenue.

The van pulled over to a 13 year old girl who was on her way to school and the driver asked if "she was working".  She replied she wasn't, then ran to her school  She didn't think to tell anyone until another incident happened two days later, again in the same block on 3rd Avenue.  The 13 year old and her 14 year old girlfriend were walking to school when  the same van appeared, and again asked if "she was working". The two girls noticed a male who approached the van then tried to follow the girls  when they ran to their school.   The girls believe this man had been a passenger in the van.

The van is described as  older, light blue with three windows on one side.  One of the windows is tinted.  The van has bucket seats and possibly a blanket in the back.

The  driver is described as:

caucasian,  60 years old, 5'6 - 5'8, bald with glasses, blue eyes,  no facial hair.   He had a gruff deep voice with possibly a French accent.  He was wearing a blue short sleeved shirt.

The passenger is described as:

Caucasian, about 40 years old  5'8" to 5'10" , heavier build, no facial hair,  wearing  black clothes and a black  touque

Police say they are also aware of an earlier incident which occurred on Graves Road when two 13 year old girls were approached by the driver of an older light blue van.  The description  of the driver was the same as the man described as the "passenger" in the more recent incidents.

Anyone with information  on this light blue van is asked to contact the RCMP
