Walkers, runners,  all ages take to the track at Masich Place Stadium

More than $370 thousand dollars was raised on the weekend through the the Relay For Life as  hundreds of  people  made their way around the track  at Massich Place Stadium.

There were all sorts of activities taking place at  Masich Place Stadium as part of the Relay  for Life including a centre stage with music, candle light  walk,  and candles of hope in the stands.

Some, like the members of Family Tae Kwon Do, not only  raised money  ( more than $8 thousand dollars) they also  put on a demonstration for the crowd.  At right, one of the members takes flight as she breaks a board!

The day and overnight event  is designed to  recognize those who are are cancer survivors,  and honour those who have lost their lives to the disease.

Last year,  the 51 Relay for Life events throughout  B.C. raised $6.5 million dollars.

Raising more money and pouring it into the coffers of the Canadian Cancer Society hasn't seemed to reduce the incidence of cancer.

The other question I have is how much research is being done on the causes of cancer? Chester
