Relay For Life Huge Success
By 250 News

They walked, ran, laughed and cried, it was the 15th annual Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life at Masich Place Stadium in Prince George.
The only 24 hour Relay For Life out of over 300 across Canada (rest are 12 hour events) is about celebrating cancer survivors and remembering those who passed away from cancer. The event is also about raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society and this past weekend raised the bar yet again.
The 2,051 participants shattered last year’s best ever fundraising total of $330,000 with already $370,000 raised from the event and with more to come in donations.
The top individual fundraiser at the 2007 Relay For Life was Taryn Brown with $11,629.
Running For Our Lives led the team fundraising with $15,112. Funds from the Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life go to research into all types of cancer and support for local programs for cancer patients.
