Police are on the scene of a motorcycle accident that occurred exactly at the same curve, 1 kilometer south of Willow River that recently claimed the life of a Prince George man.
While details are sketchy, the motorcycle left the road on the same S turn ending up in the ditch.
A 911 call was placed and an ambulance was dispatched.
The condition of the operator is not known.
The accident occured just after 7:30 this morning.
The curve  ( the north end of the curve shown in this picture)  has been a concern for  locals for years.   Although  marked   to be  taken at 60 kilometers,  locals say the north end of the cureve, just before it straightens out is banked the wrong way.   Over the years, there have been  numerous accidents and more than one fatality.

Glad to see we acted on this right away to prevent any further unnecessary injuries ??

What does it take ?
No new signs as of this weekend.
Arghhh, when will people learn? Speed kills. How many news stories have to be written on this dangerous corner before people will slow down? It bogges the mind.
Unfortunately, everybody that travels that section of road, doesn't seem to be aware of the news stories. A couple of signs would change that.
You know, as a long time driver, AND biker, I think it is each individuals' responsibility to govern oneself as to road conditions. I too have (nearly) been caught out on a road that took an unexpected twist (no pun intended) what I have learned is that each time I had a close call, it would not have been so, had I been travelling at a more modest velocity. I would like to support (morally) the people who have come to misery on the curve in question, especially as a fellow rider, but we all need to just slow down, and live.
Warning signs will help, some. Riding or driving at the speed limit will probably eliminate crashing on this corner.
