The Salmon River is high and flowing fast.

It  may be hard to get a handle on the  level of the Salmon River as  debris  flowing downstream appears to have  "taken out" the  gauge which measures the level of the water.  ( see photo at  right)

While at left, it is clear the Salmon River is  already creeeping  over the north bank into a stand of trees.

As of    2:00 this afternoon the Fraser river at South fort was  said to be at 6.805 metres.  Prince George Emergency  teams have set 7 metres as their "action point"  to review levels, weather, and possibly advise  residents.

At 2:00 this afternoon , the Nechako through Vanderhoof was  as 4.168 metres.  The "action Point" in that  region is 4.4 metres.

The Salmon river is the highest I can remember seeing it. It is already carving new river channels in a number of spots, and its these shifting drainage channels that IMO posses the most threat in that area. I think the Salmon Valley camp ground might be washed away in the comming weeks. Still open though.
The Salmon River is flowing faster than paycheques at a Pilothouse dinner.
Hang on to your hat, as I suggest in the next two to three weeks all **Hell** is going to break loose. I hope the people in the Fraser Valley are preparing for whats coming.
Some funny folks here. It's a worrisome situation for some, but it's why I live high up off the valley floor. Flood insurance, we don't need no stinking flood insurance!
