Northern Health Looking for Input on Mental Health and Addictions Services
By 250 News
Northern Health has set the wheels in motion to collect information on addictions and mental health services throughout the region. This is a follow up on the consultation held in 2004.
Board Chair, Jeff Burghardt says the information will help shape services, "We'll use the information gathered to support our strategic planning process and help determine addictions and mental health service priorities for the region."
In addition to setting up a series of meetings in communities throughout the north, Northern Health has also set up comment forms and duiscussion guides that can be accessed through Northern Health's website www.northernhealth.ca

When did public input ever make any difference on programs and topics such as mental health and addictions?
We did use to have various programs and institutuions to deal with these kinds of illnesses at one time.
The LIBERAL government did away with all that quite a while back.Since then,it has been cut,cut cut.
And why would the public be consulted?
Did public input make any difference in government raises of 29 percent plus pensions that our politicans are in the proccess of awarding themselves now?
Did they actually pay ANY attention to input from the public?
NO they didn't.
Enough discussions and comment forms.
Long past the time when Northern Health should be able to figure it out for themselves.
That's what they are paid for.
Get on with it.
