The British Columbia Psychogeriatric Association (BCPGA)  has been  granted  $200 thousand dollars in funding to  
enhance interdisciplinary services, education, and research in support of the mental health needs of seniors who  have been diagnosed with cancer.

Dawn Hemingway, President of the  is  happy to get the dollars " With our strong team of partners across the country, one of our major objectives is to develop a set of national Guidelines that will identify both the systemic features and environmental/psychosocial factors that best support the mental health of seniors living with cancer.”

The funding will also be used to assess the mental health needs of elderly people with cancer, and barriers to meeting these needs, identifying how existing cancer programs support mental health needs of seniors, developing a framework for supporting seniors with cancer, and the implementation and evaluation of strategies to support mental health needs of seniors with cancer.

Psychogeriatric? Well, there is a ten dollar word that cries out fer funding. Make one up yerself and lobby the feds, they got surpluses.
And what did Dick Harris have to do with this group obtaining funding? Why is his name on the cheque?
