Bye Bye Bill Christie

School District 57 is losing one of its Trustees.
Bill Christie, who up until last December had been Chair of the Board of Trustees for six years, is leaving Prince George. Christie and his wife Terry are moving to Red Deer where they can be closer to family.
Christie says the possibility of making the move was in the back of his mind last December when he decided not to run again for the post as Chair of the Board. He plans to fulfill his duties as a Trustee with one School Board meeting left this school year, in June.
He will move to Red Deer, and return for the meetings in September, October and November. He says he may explore the video conference opportunities for the December meeting.
His continued involvement will mean the Board will not have to have a by-election to fill the spot and can carry on until the next election which is set for the fall of 2008.
“This has been a very difficult decision” says Christie “We have so many friends here and we really love Prince George, but we would really like to have the opportunity to watch our grandchildren grow up and have an active part in their lives.”
Bill has been a Trustee for 25 years, 14 of those years with School District 57.
