RCMP spokesman Constable Gary Godwin says the RCMP will be ordering up a copy of the transcript from the now completed Coroner’s Inquest into the death of 4 year old Amanda Jean Simspon.

Charges where laid in connection with her death but they were stayed by the Crown . "We will look at any new evidence that has surfaced as a result of the inquest" Godwin says , "it will be reviewed and then we will see where we go from there."

The Regional Crown Counsel , Oleh Kuzma , said Friday that , if the police send the file back to his office"We will have another look at it , while I have heard media reports from the inquest , the Crown is not the investigating body , that job is done by police. At present we do not have the file and we would need to look at the file before making any decisions."

Testimony from several witnessess at the Coroner’s Inquest  said they beleived that Amanda did not die from an accidental fall as suggested by her Step Father.

The jury ruled that Amanda's death  8 years ago  was from injuries that  were not  accidental , and classified her death  as a homicide.

Imagine that. Now let see some justice for this little girl.
Why wouldn't the crown run a hearing in an attempt to convict when the evidence was fresh? The crown should disclose their reasons for "staying" the charges or better yet, ask the public if they want to proceed with a trial.
It serves the Crown better to wait until the children are older because they make better, more credible witnesses. Young children should be spared the experience of testifying in court, as it serves no purpose. You are very unlikley to gain a conviction on the sole basis of such a witness.

Now that we are pointed in the right direction, let's not f*ck it up !
