It has been under a week since the B.C. Provincial  Government outlined there would be financial relief for victims of the floods in the northwest, and through Prince George.

The disaster relief teams are working quickly.

One Terrace family called Opinion 250 to say they had filed their clean up and damage claim by fax Friday the 15th

On Sunday, the 17th, they got a call saying an adjuster would be out to visit them at the beginning of the week to go over the claim.

The bad news is that communities along the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers are not out of flood danger.  The snowpack remains high, and if there is a sudden warm spell, the clean up could be necessary all over again as there is still a potential for another flood event in those communities.

Anyone still wanting to file for disaster relief can obtain a form through the Provincial Emergency Program website at www.pep.bc.ca

All claims must be filed by September 11th of this year.
