It was the missing persons case that first drew national attention to the many women who’ve disappeared or been murdered along the Highway 16 corridor.

25-year-old Nicole Hoar was last seen five years ago yesterday, when she was dropped off by friends at a service station on the route, on the western edge of Prince George.

She was planning to hike to Smithers to visit her sister and has not been seen or heard from since.

Prince George RCMP Constable Gary Godwin says police are still fully active on this, and other, Highway 16 corridor murders and disappearances.

Just last month, a private investigator put out a call to volunteers to search an area near the turn-off near Norman Lake, west of Prince George, to no avail.  (click here for story)

The most recent unsolved case involving the so-called ’Highway of Tears’ was the February 2006 murder of 14-year-old Aielah Saric-Auger of Prince George, found on Highway-16 East, near Tabor Mountain.

This girl and others should not be forgotten!
Hopefully, one day the mystery will be solved and the families will find closure.
I cannot imagine the pain this has caused them all.
My condolences.
God, this must be hell on the families, I couldn't imagine. I wish them closure as well.
