The teen’s name cannot be released under the  Youth Criminal Justice Act,  but he is a resident of  Fort St. John.

The fire last Tuesday morning leveled the Nova Star Inn which was under construction  and the  Esta  Villa Motel.  The flames also  caused considerable damage  to several  businesses, including, HM Power Limited, Guillevin International, Above and Beyond Compression, Pro Auto Cleaning, Ivanhoe,  Alpine Disposal, Ft. St John Auto Cleanse Incorporated, and Prime Pump Industries.

Fire fighters from  Taylor  and Charlie Lake  assisted Fort St. John Firefighters to battle the fire.  A stretch of the Alaskan Highway  was closed  for several hours,  and  guests at several motels in the strip near the fire  were forced out into the street.

The estimate of damage has not been  finalized, but it is expected to be in the several millions of dollars.

This teen should go through the old fashion way of dealing with these crimes. Public hanging.
Ho Hum another "bored" teenager. And this cannot be named is BS. Name them so people know who to watch for. Who knows it may deter violent crimes as well.
I love a good public hanging at 8am in the morning. Nothing better to bring out a crowd and sell that cup of morning coffee.
What should be done is under supervision he needs to clean up the mess he made morning until he goes to sleep at night in jail.
You do have to wonder why they even bother?
If the court system is true to form,he will get a slap on the wrist and maybe some community service and some probation.
I give up trying to figure out why.
These punks are not affraid of the justice system at all!
They know damn well they won't get much.
And some do-gooder will bring up the bad up-bringing and home life...blah,blah,blah.
And that will be the end of it.
What the point really is,regardless of all that, they still know right from wrong!!!
You think he may have done it for a new Harley?

;-)
hmmm....harleys are very expensive....probably just a honda.
I suggest he spend a good portion of the rest of his life paying back the community for this huge loss he caused. X 7, just in case he thinks his actions were justified. And it's about time we posted their pictures and names. The days of covering up the identity and making excuses for the actions of these adolescents must end. No debts go unpaid. It's time to be accountable for their actions. 17 is old enough to drive, have sex, get a job and be responsible for his actions. Time to update the Youth Criminal Justice Act IMO. Chester
Quite right Chester and long overdue!
I bet he's already out!
well, whilst I would not like to comment on the fate of a 'boy' as yet not found guilty .... I would like to ask this question ...
Why is there so much law, and yet so little justice???

It's profit, isn't it ???
O say it ain't so ......
