The Prince George Cougars have acquired ’89 C Alex Poulter and ’88 LW Evan Pighin from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a Conditional 6th Round Bantam selection in 2008.

Poulter, a 6’0”, 185 lbs. product of Broomfield, CO, skated in 67 games with the Rebels last season, registering 6 G, 6A, 12 pts., and 24 PIM.

“Alex gives us more depth at the forward position, and as a result of having a late 1989 birthday, he will be eligible for the 2008 NHL Entry Draft”, says Cougars GM Dallas Thompson.

Pighin, a native of Vancouver, BC, suited up in 62 games with the Rebels during the 2006/2007 season. The 5’10”, 192 lbs forward tallied 3 goals, 8 assists for 11 points.

“Evan is a great addition and will give us more opportunities at the ’88 forward positions,” finishes Thompson.
